Fabric Manufacturer Since 1817
Founded in Séez-Saint-Bernard in 1817, our company is one of the last to weave and manufacture finished products and custom-made items from raw fleece. Still based at the same Woollen Mill, we work on machines classified as National Heritage to bring you fabrics, throws, cushions and clothing, showcasing our know-how and the quality of our materials.
Wool: our raw material
Weaving in Haute Tarentaise is a tradition that goes back beyond the 17th Century. The Arpin family became well known in the field when Jean-Baptiste Arpin invested money in this activity at the beginning of the 19th Century. Today, even though weaving and spinning have been modernised, production continues with the rhythm of the seasons, as in the past. Wool is bought from French breeders after the autumn shearing. Thanks to this raw material, we produce our own yarn and we weave and carry out a large number of treatments to give our fabrics a high-quality finish.
A Story of Two Men
It all began 1817, with the partnership of two men from the same family: Alexis and Jean-Baptiste Arpin, who decided to open their workshop in Séez-Saint-Bernard. Since then, down the generations, we have kept our rare, protected ancestral know-how alive.
