A french know-how
The Arpin spinning mill has been weaving alpine wool for over 200 years, with a focus on excellence, elegance and durability. No fewer than 24 stages are required to go from wool to finished product. All are carried out in France, as close as possible to the spinning mill and the mountains. The raw material, wool, comes from mountain sheep. We choose breeders who care about the quality of the wool and respect for the animals. The wool is processed mainly at the Arpin spinning mill in Séez Saint Bernard. Sorting, beating, carding, weaving, etc. are all carried out on century-old machines that have been in use since the birth of the Arpin story. For some specific stages, we work in partnership with French craftsmen who are experts in their field. These artisans are selected for their expertise, quality and local presence. Our fabrics, from the most rustic to the most delicate, from the most authentic to the most contemporary, are made in the purest of traditions.

Drap de Bonneval
Arpin fabric, mountain soul - authentic, timeless, exclusive.
Pierre Blanc, the famous mountain guide and street vendor, was born in Bonneval-sur-Arc in 1881. Nicknamed the Pope of Bonneval, so successful was he in promoting Séez cloth throughout the Alps, that this fabric quickly became known as Bonneval Cloth. Made using the same methods for two centuries, with wool from Alpine sheep, the Arpin Woollen Mill has always built its reputation on this exclusive, 100% natural fabric. Its pure, simple beauty is only matched by its legendary strength. Ideal for stylishly upholstering chairs and sofas, it can also be used for making curtains with a perfect drape.
Bonneval Cloth is used for ARPIN ready-to-wear collections and for the ceremonial outfits of the Chamonix Mont-Blanc Guides Company.

Tissu des Alpes
Arpin creativity, warmth, softness and endless possibilities.
Alpine Fabric continues the tradition of the Savoyard Master Wool Manufacturers. For generations, it has been used to make the most beautiful throws and blankets, as it is the ultimate natural insulator. In addition, carefully selected alpine wool provides incomparable quality and increased longevity.
The use of Alpine Fabric is not recommended for chairs or carpets. In addition, we strongly advise against using ‘brushed’ or ‘check’ fabrics for curtains and cushions.

Etoffe des Aravis
Material in its purest form.
A woollen fabric that is not very dense and which elegantly reveals the texture of the weave. A fabric effect with a resolutely modern look, this Arpin fabric is highly prized for making contemporary curtains, for example.

Muletière
Strength and durability.
Muletière takes its name from its original equestrian use. Pack mules were draped in blankets cut from this cloth, which was much sought after because of its remarkable strength, which long wool fulling gives it. In fact, its amazing density makes it the only Arpin cloth that can be used in clean cuts, without finishing.
