The fabric of a mountain heritage

The taupe Alpine throw is woven in the Arpin workshops, using alpine wool selected for its natural warmth and durability. A genuine, vibrant wool that still carries something of the landscape and climate of the Alps.

The fabric is dense and structured. It doesn't seek immediate suppleness; it reveals itself over time. It's the fabric of the Alps, as Arpin has been crafting it since 1817, designed to last, to be used, folded, laid down, and reworked. A material that accompanies daily life without deteriorating.

The taupe hue stands out for its sheer presence. Mineral and deep, it captures the light without overpowering it. A contrasting band runs across the center of the throw. A simple motif, inspired by mountain design, that defines the home's identity without any superfluous decorative flourish. Just perfect balance.

The fringes are short and discreet. They highlight the fabric without weighing it down, recalling the care taken with the finishing touches and the respect for the artisanal technique.

Made in France, the taupe Alpin throw finds its natural place on a sofa, armchair, or at the foot of a bed. Whether in a mountain retreat or a contemporary interior, it brings warmth, texture, and depth. More than just an accessory, it's a piece of textile designed to accompany moments of relaxation and last through the seasons.

A wool blanket true to the Arpin spirit: respect for the material, exacting craftsmanship and timeless elegance, shaped far from effects, at the pace of long time.

The subject matter in a few words

The alpine wool used for the taupe Alpine throw is naturally warm and breathable. Dense and protective, it offers effective insulation while allowing air to circulate. With time and use, the fabric softens slightly, without ever losing its shape or character.

A textile piece first and foremost

At Arpin, a wool throw is not conceived as a mere decorative accessory. It is a fabric in its own right, woven with the same exacting standards as the mill's textiles. The Alpin taupe throw embodies this tradition: a durable textile, designed for everyday use and to withstand the changing seasons.

The feel and texture of the Alpine blanket

The fabric from the Alps is distinguished by its honest and authentic feel. The throw doesn't aim for immediate, extreme softness, but rather a warm and comforting sensation. A material that protects against the cold, that ages gracefully, and that retains its structure.

Woven and made in France

The taupe Alpine throw is woven at the historic Arpin mill in the heart of the Alps (Séez Saint-Bernard) and crafted in our workshop in Albertville. Each piece is the result of techniques passed down through eight generations, respecting the material and the rhythm of artisanal work.

Care instructions for the Alpine wool throw

To preserve the throw over time, it is recommended not to machine wash or bleach it. Tumble drying is not recommended. If necessary, gentle ironing at a low temperature (110°C) is possible, without steam, as steam can damage the fibers. For optimal care, opt for professional cleaning with water on a gentle cycle that respects the wool and its structure.
