Tramontane azurite and ecru wool throw: a contemporary take on an Alpine classic

The Tramontane wool throw reinterprets an essential textile piece with a more graphic and contemporary approach. Through its Mescla pattern, structured with regular chevrons, it offers a precise visual language, where azure blue dialogues with softer ecru shades. This balance of colors creates a distinct presence without being overwhelming, suitable for various decorative styles.

Made from 100% wool, using Arpin's iconic Tissu des Alpes, this throw is part of a demanding textile tradition. The working of the material, particularly through fulling, gives the fabric a density and hold that contribute to its durability. This structure allows the throw to maintain its shape and appearance over time, while providing regulated warmth.

The fringed finish extends this approach, bringing a visual softness that contrasts with the rigor of the pattern. This discreet yet essential detail recalls the traditional uses of the throw while integrating into a more contemporary aesthetic.

Designed for daily use, the Tramontane throw naturally finds its place on a sofa, an armchair, or as an extra layer on a bed. Its single size makes it easy to integrate into different spaces, where it can be used as an occasional blanket or as a structuring textile element.

Made in France, in Arpin's workshops in Savoie, this throw embodies expertise rooted in its region. Each manufacturing step contributes to creating a cohesive piece, where material, pattern, and use are precisely articulated. Paired with the Aulne cushion, it allows for the creation of a harmonious ensemble, in a continuity of textures and shades.

Tramontane Wool Throw: 100% wool material from Tissu des Alpes

Made from 100% wool, the Tramontane throw follows the tradition of durable and authentic fabrics. Its Alpine Fabric, a signature of Arpin's expertise, results from a fulling process that densifies the material while maintaining its natural suppleness. This process gives the textile remarkable durability and the ability to withstand the test of time without deforming.

The Mescla pattern, subtle and nuanced, animates the fabric surface, revealing the richness of the wool fibers. It contributes to the impression of depth characteristic of meticulously crafted fabrics. The fringed finish appropriately extends the textile process, in a spirit faithful to the traditional uses of a throw.

Azurite and ecru wool blanket Tramontane: a graphic and luminous Mescla pattern

The Tramontane throw combines a deep azure blue with ecru shades, in a balanced contrast that immediately catches the eye without ever being overbearing. This palette, both fresh and mineral, evokes alpine landscapes with clear skies and natural materials.

The Mescla pattern, structured in regular chevron lines, adds rhythm to the fabric while maintaining high visual readability. This subtle graphic play creates an impression of relief and movement, reinforced by the alternation of colored threads. The ensemble forms a throw with a strong identity, capable of integrating equally well into a contemporary interior or a more traditional atmosphere.

Tramontane Azurite wool blanket: everyday use, combining comfort and functionality

Designed to accompany simple daily actions, the Tramontane throw can be used both as an extra blanket and as a structuring textile element in a living room. Its size makes it easy to place on a sofa, an armchair or at the foot of a bed, where it remains accessible without cluttering the space.

The density of the Tissu des Alpes allows it to retain warmth without feeling stuffy, making it suitable for use in all seasons, especially on cooler evenings. It can also be used as an additional layer on the bed, in addition to a blanket or duvet, to adjust thermal comfort.

On a daily basis, this wool throw is easy to handle: it folds, moves and repositions without constraint, making it a practical and durable textile object, designed for regular rather than occasional use.

Tramontane Azurite wool throw: a dense and authentic feel

The Tramontane throw offers a characteristic feel of wools crafted in Tissu des Alpes: a dense, structured material that retains the natural relief of the fiber. This slightly textured feel, linked to the weave and the Mescla pattern, provides a tangible sensation to the touch, far from smooth or uniform fabrics.

To the touch, the wool reveals a balance between firmness and flexibility. It does not crush or lose its shape, while remaining comfortable enough for direct use. This tactile quality allows the throw to sit well on the body or on a surface, without slipping or deforming.

Over time and with use, the material subtly evolves, gaining flexibility without losing its structure. This living texture, inherent to natural fibers, contributes to the throw's identity and its lasting everyday appeal.

Tramontane Azurite wool throw: Made in France in the heart of the Alps

The Tramontane throw is made in France, in the Arpin workshops, located in Savoie. This location in the heart of the Alps is not insignificant: it is part of a historical continuity where wool work meets the constraints and demands of a mountain environment.

Each manufacturing step relies on perfected textile know-how, from the transformation of the wool to the making of the throw. The Tissu des Alpes, used for this model, is the result of specific techniques, including fulling, which give the material its density and hold.

Local production helps preserve these gestures, but also ensures coherence between the material, the territory, and the final use of the product. This direct link between the place of manufacture and the nature of the throw contributes to its durability and uniqueness.

Tramontane azurite wool throw: care instructions to preserve the material

The Tramontane throw, made of 100% wool, requires appropriate care to preserve its natural properties and its longevity. As wool is a living fiber, it reacts to water, heat, and excessive friction.

Machine washing is not recommended, nor is the use of bleaching products or tumble drying, which could irrevocably alter the structure of the Tissu des Alpes. Ironing, if necessary, should be occasional and carried out at a low temperature (110°C maximum), without steam, to avoid any fiber deformation.

For optimal care, professional wet cleaning on a moderate cycle is recommended. Between cleanings, simple regular airing will refresh the material and help preserve the throw's qualities over time.
